Bagasse: New Raw Material for Packaging Solutions
Bagasse is fiber from sugar cane waste: a residual material that remains after the extraction of sugar cane juice. Sugarcane is a tree-free, renewable resource. In the past, sugarcane waste was burned in the field, causing pollution, but now a very good purpose is found for bagasse, that is to use it as a raw material for the manufacture of products such as compostable disposable tableware. It is more sustainable than compostable products made in woods or paper.
Without having to use an industrial composting facility, bagasse products can decompose within 90 days. Depending on the composting conditions, such as temperature, moisture and size, they usually compost even faster. Bagasse disposables are suitable for both hot and cold dishes and are usually microwave and refrigerator safe.
We offers different product lines made from bagasse. Currently we sell trays and plates for fresh fruits and vegetables, trays for fresh meat, boxes, cups , lids and containers for take-away foods and drinks and seedling trays for the horticulture industry. Our products are certified by BRC, BPI and OK Compost Industrial. Finally, we have a warehouse in Belgium, from which we can direct supply and also hold stock.
